Meet our 2022
Scholarship Recipients

Emilee Craighead graduated from Manteca High School. She will attend Fresno State University majoring in Agriculture Business with the intent to become an agriculture attorney. She was a member of FFA all four years, along with showed commercial gilts and lambs. She also participated in the student body as an officer and received a Varsity Letter in five sports. Emilee was awarded the Sanguinetti Family Scholarship.

Emma Phelps graduated from Ripon High School and is planning to attend Oklahoma State University in the Fall. Her intent is to study Animal Science and become a LIvestock Animal Nutritionist. She was involved in FFA all four years during high school earning degrees and awards judging and showing cattle. She was also in leadership roles in ASB and Senior Class President. She was also Almond Blossom Princess, involved in Church Youth Group, a nanny, and worked on her family ranch and Ripon Veterinary Hospital.

Tatum Gogna graduated from Tokay High School. She is planning to attend University of Nevada, Reno pursuing an Agriculture Business degree. She was the FFA Chapter President. She had Academic Honors all four years, as well as, played volleyball and worked.

Sarah Reece graduated from Galt High School and has been a Student Athlete, as well as, a four year member and officer of FFA. She is majoring in Agriculture Science at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with the intention of becoming an Agriculture Educator.

Madison Hagglund graduated from Escalon High School. She plans to study Bioresource & Agriculture Engineering at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. She was a four-year member of FFA and this year V. P. She is a Scholar Athlete having played volleyball and softball. She was also 2021’s Miss Escalon.

Nickolas Vana graduated from Linden High School. He plans to study Agriculture Business with a concentration in International Marketing at Oklahoma State University He was a four-sport athlete in wrestling, football, track, and cross country. He was in 4-H and FFA during High School and was a counselor at 4-H camp. He has volunteered many hours for SJ CWA, as well as Church, 4-H, and FFA. Nick was also awarded the Barbegelata and Muzio Family Scholarships.

Larry Azevedo is a graduate of Sierra High School. He plans on attending MJC majoring in Animal Science eventually becoming an Ag Educator. He was a student athlete playing soccer and track and field and a 4 year FFA member.

Cassidy Morton attended Ripon High School. She is planning to attend Modesto Junior College in the fall, working towards a degree in Agriculture Science degree to pursue a career as an Agriculture Educator. She was the FFA Chapter President.

Faith Kelley graduated from Linden High School and will be attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She received a Memorial Scholarship which will help fund her studies in Occupational Therapy. She was a standout althlete in softball and soccer and will play collegiate softball at SWOSU.

Cadence DeCoite graduated from Merrill F. West High School. She plans to attend Modesto Junior College in pursuit of an Agricutlure Science degree with the goal of becoming an Ag Teacher.As FFA Chapter President, she has held many leadership positions in her four years. She has also participated in volleyball and theatre productions as well.

Isabel Thompson graduated from Ripon High School. She plans to attend Modesto Junior College to pursue a degree in Agriculture Science to one day become an Ag Educator. She has been involved in FFA all four years of high school and showed rabbits.

Connor Nims graduated from Linden High School as Valedictorian. He received a Memorial Scholarship. Connor plans to attend UC Berkeley to study Chemistry.

Alexandria Frederick is a graduate of Lodi High School. She plans to attend Delta Community College to pursue an Agriculture Communication degree and become an Agricutlure Educator. She was FFA Chapter President as well as playing Volleyball and working. Alex was awarded the Strecker Family Scholarship.

Anahy Yepez-Saenz graduated from Lodi High School. She plans to attend Delta Community College to pursue a degree in Agriculture. She was Secretary of Lodi #1 FFA chapter at Lodi High.

Meet our 2021
Scholarship Recipients

Allison Berchtold graduated from East Union High School in Manteca. She was active in FFA all 4 years, serving as V. President her senior year. She plans on attending Modesto MJC and then transferring to Fresno or Oregon State. Ag Education will be her major with a career goal of being an Ag teacher.

Alejandra Areralo-Hercado graduated from Weston Ranch High School. She was active in FFA and served as class president for 3 years and ASB president her senior year. She was also the student representative for the Manteca Unified School Board. Alejandra will attend Fresno State with a major in animal science and a career goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Emily Dondero graduated from Linden High School where she served as ASB V. President and participated in FFA all 4 years. She was awarded All-Academic in both volleyball and softball. She will be attending Texas Christian University in the fall with a planned major of Finance in Real Estate hoping to become a real estate agent one day.

Victoria Peery graduated from Concord High School. This coming fall she will be attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona pursuing a BS degree in Nursing. Her career goal is to be a pediatric oncology nurse.

Charliez Blakeney-LaRue graduated from East Union High School. She was a member of FFA and Calla 4-H. Studying to be a Veterinary technician.

Emma Bracco , a graduate of Escalon High, was in FFA all 4 years . She has volunteered weekly at the Escalon Animal Shelter which helped her decision to want to become a veterinarian. She will attend Cal Poly SLO in the fall, majoring in animal science.

Alyssa Salcedo graduated from Escalon High where she was involved in FFA all 4 years and received the Teamwork Award. Fresno State is her destination the fall with a major of Ag Business, and a career goal of ag marketing.

Madison Kelley is a graduate of Tracy High School where she was active in FFA all 4 years, serving as President the last 2 years. She is V. President of the Junior Ag Fest Board and also serves on the alif. Pork Producers Junior Board of Directors. Off to MJC as an animal science then on to Chico, Oklahoma State or Texas Tech to pursue a degree in pre-law and hopefully becoming an ag lawyer.

Loraina Lyle graduated from East Union High School, where she participated in FFA all 4 years. She was on the Ag Mechanics team all four years. She will be attending Delta College where she will major in Diesel Mechanics and hopefully get into the Caterpiller Diesel Program.

John Lucostic is a graduate of Linden High School . He serves as President of his FFA chapter, and has completed over 100 hours of community service John will be attending Oklahoma State in the fall with a major in Ag Business His career goal is to become a farm manager.

Elianna Garibaldi graduated from Linden High School where she was a 4 year member of FFA and of the Show Choir which performs at numerous events from local to state and even national competitions. She will be attending Azusa Pacific University majoring in commercial music. Elianna hopes to become a professional staff writer for a record label.

Emily Cooper
Grew up in Acampo, CA a 2020 graduate of Lodi High School. She participated in many extracurricular activities such as Storm Drain Detectives, CSF, and Unicef Club. She is also a member of the LHS Drill Team and FFA Floriculture and Light Horse Judging teams. Emily graduated with a 4.33 gps and was a CSF Sealbearer and "Most Distinguished Student."
As a true animal lover at heart, Emily plans to attend UC Davis in the fall with a major in Animal Science. She hope to improve the lives of many animals by pursuing a career as a Veterinarian. or Animal Researcher.

Julia Ford
She is a 2020 graduate of Bear Creek High School, in Stockton. She was very involved with campus activities. A member of the Cheerleading Squad as well as the Swim Team. She was a member of AVID and FFA, serving as the Chapter President her Senior year. She was also Conflict Mediator the last 2 years. She will be attending Chico State in the Fall to major in Agricultural Education with a focus in Animal Science in hopes of becoming a High School Ag Teacher.

Austin Terra
A 2020 graduate of Escalon High School. He had many amazing experiences, such as playing sports, inspiring students at rallies as an ASB Director of Activities. A devoted member of the Future Farmers of America he held many leadership positions; Chapter President 2019-20, Treasurer 2018-19, Central Region Reporter 2019-20, and Delta-Cal Section FFA Vice President 2018-19. In 2019, Austin served as a delegate to both the California State FFA Conference and National FFA Convention. He has been an exhibitor at the Agfest since he was nine years old. Austin has participated in FFA speaking contests, attended numerous conferences and was a member of the California FFA State Champion Agriculture Pest Control Judging Team 2017. Austin will attend CSU, Fresno in the fall to study Agricultural Education and Animal Science.

Travis Affonso
A 2020 Graduate of Linden High School. He was involved with many campus activities such as FFA, football and several agriculture clubs. In the fall he plans on attending Cuesta Community College, in San Louis Obispo to major in Ag Business. Eventually transferring to Cal Ply SLO as an Ag Systems Management major. He thanks the California Women for Agriculture for making this possible.

Alyssa Donich
A 2020 graduate of Ripon High School. She has been an active member of the Ripon 4-H and Ripon FFA. She is very excited and grateful for the CWA Agriculture Scholarship. She will be attending Modesto Junior College in the fall to complete her General Education courses as well as be involved in the Agriculture Department. She then plans to transfer to CSU, Fresno to work towards a Ag Business and Crop Science Degrees. Her end goal is to become a USDA inspector. She wants to continue to be an Ag advocate for our industry and give back to our youth.
